About Full-Arch dental implants

What exactly is the full-arch Implants procedure?
"Full Arch" and “All-on-4” and “All-on-X” are terms used to describe a procedure where patients can replace all their teeth with a fixed set of teeth in a short period of time. This is a great option if all teeth in an arch require replacement. Placing 16 implants would be very cost-prohibitive and may not be practical if all teeth require replacement.  A full arch of implants can be replaced with fixed teeth either with 3 sets of implant bridges supported by 8 implants or an "All-on-X" procedure with 4-6 implants.

This treatment is attractive for those patients with dentures or who need full upper and/or lower restorations. If you are about to lose your teeth or have many missing teeth, the full-arch procedure can help you achieve a beautiful smile in as little as a few weeks.

The result is a set of teeth that are fixed in place and are not removed. It means lower costs and reduced healing times, allowing our patients to regain their original youthful smile and original function faster, more reliably.
What is the process for getting Full-Arch Implants?
4-8 appliances are placed into the jawbone and gums and left to heal sufficiently before the implant bridge(s) can be secured in place. Once implanted, your bridge(s) will resemble the appearance of your natural teeth.

As with all Dental Implants, full-arch Dental Implants are placed during an outpatient surgical procedure in Dr. Polnar’s office. We will use a local anesthetic during this procedure to keep you comfortable. Some patients also want to take advantage of sedation, which provides more comfort for those that may be nervous.

After your implants are placed, you may be given a temporary denture during healing.  The final fixed bridge(s) will be prepared 4-6 months later after your implants integrate with your jaw bone. At that point, you will have your final beautiful smile.
What are the benefits of the Full-Arch Procedure?

In addition to the short treatment time frame, full-arch Dental Implants have several advantages over conventional dentures:

  • You will have a beautiful set of fixed teeth 4-6 months after your implants are placed.
  • It’s a minimally invasive procedure
  • There’s less pain and swelling
  • No more ill-fitting dentures
  • It eliminates denture adhesives
  • Your new teeth are secure as your natural teeth
  • Fewer dental visits are required
  • It’s cost-effective compared to traditional implants
  • It is a life-changing procedure
Who is a good candidate for full-arch Implants?
Dental implants are widely regarded as the best treatment for loose dentures. Permanent dental implants are designed to make dentures much more secure and enable you to smile, eat and talk confidently. We can assist you if you have been thinking about investing in implants. The implants act as a foundation for replacement teeth. They won’t decay and are designed to last for the rest of your life. Implants can be used in conjunction with various dental procedures to improve oral health. Once they are installed, you’re much less likely to face problems with slippage and discomfort.
