Wanpeng Xu
DMD, MSD, PhD
Dr. Xu (pronounced “Shu”) received his BDS from Henan Medical University, China, in 2000. Upon his graduation, he went to Hiroshima University, Japan, for his first periodontal training combined with a PhD majored in tissue engineering for periodontal application.
Dr. Xu attended Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry and received his second dental degree (DMD) and periodontal certificate in 2015. Dr. Xu is a faculty member at Boston University Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry. He continues teaching clinical surgeries and Periodontology. Dr. Xu leads the school’s dental implant research group and continues research in tissue engineering. Dr. Xu has contributed to and reviewed several journal publications in Implant Dentistry and Periodontology.
Dr. Xu’s professional memberships include; The American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Association of Dental Research, the International Association of Dental Research, the Japanese Society of Periodontology, and the Japanese Association of Conservative Dentistry. Dr. Xu is also a committee member of the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. Xu is committed to treating patients as family, with the highest quality care. In his free time, Dr. Xu enjoys swimming, kayaking, music, and traveling.
